Thrive Together FAQ

Is ThriveTogether concluding?

Yes. It’s time for Foster and Kimberly and the Thrive team to focus on developing the infrastructure and relations needed to bring bold solutions to fruition through what we call ThriveConnect. We had a great success with ThriveTogether and benefitted from the many rich interactions we shared with our community. There is simply only so much time in a day and we feel that a tactical retreat to get this work done is the best use of us now. Thank you! ThriveTogether materials will remain accessible until March 20, 2016.

How do I post comments on the website?

In order to post comments to the website, you must register an account with Disqus, whom we have found to be a reliable host for this infrastructure. We use their services for both privacy purposes and protection of the integrity of the conversation from spam and abuse. You can sign into Disqus by clicking on the text box, where you will be given the option to sign in using Facebook, Twitter, Google+, or Disqus (if you already have an account) by clicking on the appropriate icon. If you want to sign in with Disqus but do not have an account, simply click in the text box where it says “Name”. Then, enter a username, an email address, and a password in the boxes that appear. Click on the arrow button and your account will be created and you can begin posting.

How do I contribute a suggestion for a blog?

Please post your suggestion in the Comments section at the bottom of the ThriveTogether portal page. You can also vote up or down on others’ suggestions. We will take these into consideration as we develop topics of discussion for future blogs and on-line events.

What are the system requirements to participate in the online events?

If you plan to participate by asking questions or commenting live, you will need to have a Mac or PC computer (or compatible mobile device; see next question). For best results we recommend using a headset for audio output. You can also access the event by calling in on a phone, but you will be limited to listening to the event only; commenting and other participation is not available.

Can I participate in a live event using my mobile device?

Yes. You will need to download the WebEx app either from iTunes or from the WebEx webpage and install it prior to the event. You can connect to the event either through a wireless network or your cellular service provider. The app allows you to see and hear the event, participate in conversations in the chat panel, ask questions in the Q&A panel, and present as a panelist if you are called upon to do so. The app does not yet support some features that are available on the desktop app. These include participating in polls, “raising your hand” in response to a question, audio and video file playback during an event, and playback of recorded events. If you have issues in your experience of using this app during an event, contact us at events@thrivemovement.com and please specify what platform you are using.

How do I participate in the live on-line event?

Visit the event page (linked from the ThriveTogether portal) for instructions on how to register and participate.

How do I participate in the ThriveTogether live events on WebEx?

We highly recommend that in the days prior to the event, you install the Event Center software to use the WebEx platform. You will be able to do this from the registration confirmation page for the event, or by clicking the link below. Once the software is installed, we recommend you Join a TEST Meeting (see link below), so that the screen and functions are familiar to you when the event is live. We also recommend you browse the documents below to become familiar with common user issues that might hinder your experience. We do our best to help users troubleshoot issues during the event, but already being familiar with the platform will help us with this process.

How do I change my account information, payment information, or upgrade or cancel my subscription?

From the ThriveTogether portal, sign in to your account. Select “View or change your subscription” from the options in the upper, right corner of the page. You will be taken to your Account Manager where you will be able to view your account history and update your account information, email, payment method, and subscription plan. You can cancel your account at the bottom of the page. Upon cancellation, you will continue to have access to your account until the completion of the billing period.

Can I pay for my subscription without using a credit or debit card?

Contact us at info@thrivemovement.com for alternative payment methods, including bitcoin or personal check. Or, consider using a prepaid credit card.

Can I give a subscription as a gift?

Yes! You may purchase a gift subscription covering a period of months. Upon completing your purchase, you will receive a gift code for you to share with your intended recipient. The recipient may then apply the gift code during their enrollment for a $10 credit each month for the duration of the gift period.

How do I get a refund?

ThriveTogether is a subscription service. If you choose to cancel your subscription, you will continue to have access to services and features until your current billing period ends. We do not provide refunds or credits for any partially used membership periods.

Why are you charging for subscriptions?

We initially intended the revenue from our film to support the ongoing expenses of the Thrive Movement, but we chose to make it available for free in order for it to reach as many people as quickly as possible. Similarly, we have kept the website, the Solutions Hub, the research, the extra videos, and the other resources available for free. One of the principle foundations of THRIVE is a belief in the voluntary exchange of value and that when someone devotes their time and effort to creating something that is valuable to others, it is reasonable to ask for fair compensation for their efforts and it is necessary to sustain an ongoing endeavor. Foster & Kimberly underwrote the film and website for years knowing that eventually it would be unsustainable in the long run and that a model of exchange would be needed to support the Thrive Movement. A subscription program emerged as the right solution because it allows people to participate at a deeper level without depriving anyone of what they are already getting. While we understand that this is a new approach and unfamiliar to what our viewers have been accustomed to, we feel quite clear about this voluntary exchange of value being the right next step for us.
